MISSION

The R-SQUAD, established in 2024, is a pioneering French-German research team associating researchers from the University of Applied Sciences Kehl and the University of Strasbourg. This multidisciplinary group is dedicated to advancing resilience analyses and policies, with a particular focus on anticipating major crises in strategically important areas, managing extreme events at local and sub-national levels and developing resilience strategies.

The R-SQUAD's comprehensive approach integrates expertise from various disciplines to address crisis analysis and management at the territorial level: Economics, Political and Administrative Sciences, Management, Psychology, Sociology, Futures Studies, Legal Science, Geography, and Information and Communication Technology. 

The core activities of the R-SQUAD are expert consultancy (providing insights to local, national and international institutions), education and training (offering specialized courses and workshops) and academic contributions (advancing scholarly knowledge in resilience and crisis management). Furthermore, the R-SQUAD serves as a hub for collaboration, connecting researchers and practitioners from European countries, North America and Asia.
